Additional New York Giants Info

Known among fans as “Big Blue,” the “G-Men,” or the “Jints,” the New York Giants are one of the NFL’s cornerstone franchises. Established in 1925, the New York Giants played at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan during the first 3 decades of their existence. During that time, they quickly distinguished themselves as one of the great teams of early professional football, winning three NFL championships.

In 1956, the team moved to Yankee Stadium and won their fourth NFL championship behind legendary running back Frank Gifford and linebacker Sam Huff. The 1950’s Giants also had future NFL icons Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry on its coaching staff.

In 1976, the franchise moved to Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but kept New York in their name, which remains controversial to this day. Bill Parcells became the Giants’ head coach starting in 1983 and he assembled historic teams that included the likes of Lawrence Taylor, Harry Carson, Mark Bavaro, and beloved quarterback Phil Simms. New York Giants Ticket Holders enjoyed several successful seasons during Parcells’ reign, which included Super Bowl wins in 1986 and 1990.

Parcells left the team after the second championship and the Giants wouldn’t reach the Super Bowl again until 2000, then again in 2008. In the ‘08 contest New York, led by quarterback Eli Manning, managed one of the greatest upsets in NFL history, defeating the previously undefeated New England Patriots. The two teams met again in the Super Bowl following the 2011 season, with the Giants defeating the Patriots to capture another title.

The Giant’s home turf was re-named MetLife Stadium in 2011 and New York Giants Ticket Holders have been watching home games there to this day. Golden Tickets has your access to all of the grid-iron action.
